Server Backup Manager Install Instructions
- Download the Server Backup Manager setup file
and run it
- Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to complete installation
- When finished, a new icon (Server Backup Manager) will be installed to the system tray (near the clock) automatically and OBM will be launched automatically.
- If you don't have a backup account, select [Trial Registration] and press the [Next] button
- Enter the [Login Name] and [Password] of your choice
- Enter your [Email address] in the text field provided
- Press the [Submit] button
- You should be logged to the backup server already (if the [Login Name] of your choice is already taken by another user, try a different login name)
- If you have a backup account already, select [User Logon] and logon to the server with your existing username and password.
- If this is the first time you logon to the server, you will be guided to setup a backup set
- Enter a backup set name of your choice in the [Name] field
- Select the files that you want to backup
- Setup the backup schedule by pressing the [Properties] button (please note that you can add multiple backup schedules to a backup set)
- Setup the encryption setting for your backup set (if you don't know much about encryption, just accept the default values here)
- Press the [Finish] button
- To run a backup immediately, select your backup set from the left panel and press the [Start Backup] button above. Select [Off-site Backup Server] and press the [OK] button.
- Setup completed.

Getting Started with Desktop Backup Manager
- Download the Desktop Backup Manager
Install and setup Desktop Backup Manager
- After successful installation, Desktop Backup Manager will be launched automatically.
- If you are using a proxy server to access the internet, please fill in the [Proxy settings] section.
- Select the [Trial Registration] option to register for a new trial backup account.
- Press the [OK] button.
- Enter a login name and password of your choice (for the new trial backup account to be created on our backup servers)
- Enter your email address.
- Press the [Submit] button.
- Create a new backup set.
- After successful login, a backup set wizard will appear to help create your backup set.
- Select the shortcuts in [Backup Source] to quickly select common files to backup.
- Press the [Advanced] button to select additional files that you want to backup.
- Press the [Next] button.
- Enter a backup schedule for unattended backups.
- Press the [Next] button.
- Enter and confirm your encrypting key. (IMPORTANT - Do not lose this key!)
- Press the [Save] button.
- Backup and restore files.
- To backup your files, just press the big [Backup] button.
- To restore your files, just press the big [Restore] button.

- Windows 95 - Please download and install Windows Socket 2 Update for Windows 95 (w95ws2setup.exe)
- Windows NT / 2000 / XP / 2003 - Please make sure you have logged onto Windows using an account with administrative privileges

- Download the setup file above and run it
- Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to complete installation
- When finished, a new icon "Server Backup Manager" (SBM) or"Desktop Backup Manager" (DBM)) will be installed to the system tray near the clock.
- If you are using a proxy server to access the internet, please fill in the [Proxy setting] section and press the [Next] button.
- If you don't have a backup account, register a trial user by the following steps
- Enter the [Login Name], [Password] and [Confirm Password] of your choice
- Enter your [Email] in the text field provided
- Press the [Submit] button
- You should now be logged onto the backup server already (if the [Login Name] of your choice is already taken by another user, try a different login name)
- If you have a backup account already, select [already a user?] and logon to the server with your existing username and password.
- If this is your first time logging into the server, you will be guided to create a backup set
- Enter a backup set name of your choice in the [Name] field, choose the type of backup set in the [Type] field and then press [Next] button.
- Select the files that you want to backup and press the [Next] button.
- For SBM user, press the [properties] button to review or make changes to the default backup schedule setting and then press the [Next] button. (please note that you can add multiple backup schedules to a backup set by pressing the [Add] button and please select the "Run scheduled backup on this computer" checkbox if you would like to run Continuous Data Protection (CDP)).
- For DBM user, enter a backup schedule for unattended backups and then press the [Next] button. (please select the "Run scheduled backup on this computer" checkbox if you would like to run Continuous Data Protection (CDP)).
- Setup the encryption setting for your backup set (if you don't know much about encryption, just accept the default values here)
- Press the [OK] button to complete the configuration of backup set
- Scheduled backup will run automatically if you leave your computer on.
- To run a backup immediately,
- For SBM user, click [Backup] button on the left panel, select the backup set and press [OK] button.
- For DBM user, click [Backup] button on the left panel.
- Setup completed.
- To restore your files, please do the following steps
- Click [Restore] button on the left panel
- Select the backup set containing the files you want to restore and then press [Next] button.
- Select all files that you want to restore using the file explorer on the right panel.
- If you want to restore your files to a folder other than the original folder, please make changes to the [Restore files to] section.
- Press the [Start Restore] button.
